Klaus Voormann Ultra Rare Signed Lithograph (1/50) (Gary Switlo Collection).

Signed by Klaus Voormann in a black felt tip pen, numbered 1/50.

Provenance: From the Gary Switlo collection.

A former concert promoter, Gary helped make Vancouver, Canada, one of the best concert towns in North America. He managed his first band, Sound Tunnel, in the mid-60s when he was still an economics student at the University of B.C. In 1971, Switlo and his business partner started a ticket agency called Concert Box Office, later, they merged with Vancouver Ticket Centre and became Ticketmaster Canada in 1988. Notable musicians he brought to Vancouver were Led Zeppelin, The Doors. Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Who, Steppenwolf and many more.

Switlo was honored in 1992, before his passing, with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Box Office Management International.

Gary loved show business, music, and doing things with a flair both in business and his personal life. He hosted Halloween block parties, decorated the family home for all holidays, and even set up elaborate easter egg hunts for his daughter. This collection is the second and final auction of Switlo’s memorabilia. Gary is dearly missed and remembered by many, especially his wife Umeeda and daughter Nareena.

Good condition.
