The book is a catalogue published by Haring's close friend and Gallery owner Tony Shafrazi. The book is filled with vibrant imagery, including essays on Haring and his work by Jeffrey Deitch, Robert Pincus-Witten, and David Shapiro.
Photos of several of Haring's earliest works on the subway blackboards. The pictures are of Haring and his art throughout his career, including famous pieces and unknown projects. Colour and black and white - on cardstock or photo paper, depending on the section.
In the forward of this special edition, Shafrazi writes, "I feel it is important at this stage to bring together the great range of his work in order to show and share this wonderful experience" - dated August 24th 1982. "This wonderful experience" refers to Shafrazi working with Keith Haring as his career grew to iconic and international recognition.
