Beautifully framed John Quincy Adams signed display consisting of a signed address written in his hand to a recipient in Braintree, Massachusetts (Adams place of birth) and signed by him “J. Q.Adams.” (6 X 4) First appointed to public service in 1794 as the US Ambassador to the Netherlands by President George Washington, Adams served in high ranking diplomatic posts before serving in the Massachusetts State Senate, the US Senate and US House of Representatives, Secretary of State under President James Monroe and his election as the 6th President of the United States (1825-1829). The handsome frame includes a 5 X 7 engraving of this historic statesman and President. Framed 14 X 20. Very good condition. This lot comes from the extensive personal collection of a life-long collector of Historical, Entertainment and Sports artifacts and memorabilia. The collector has amassed a virtually unmatched collection that is one of the largest we have ever seen. This lot comes with a letter from Gotta Have Rock and Roll.com stating that it was sold in the Gotta Have History Winter Auction, February 16-25, 2022.
