A black evening suit that consists of a single breasted jacket with satin shawl collar, satin covered button and four matching satin covered buttons on each cuff with pleated trousers with satin running down the side of each leg. Label in jacket reads ‘Tailored By Frame Exclusively For Cecil Gee Of London’ and stamped R38.

The suit was owned and worn by John Lennon at the Carl Alan award ceremony that took place at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square, London on 23rd March 1964. The Beatles were in attendance to receive two awards which were ‘The Most Outstanding Beat Group of 1963’ and ‘Best Vocal Record’ for ‘She Loves You’. The awards were presented to the group by Prince Philip.
