John Lennon Owned & Worn Hand-Made Indian Quilted Jacket.
This handmade quilted jacket was owned and worn by John Lennon and dates back to the Beatles historic 1968 trip to visit the Maharishi's ashram in Rishikesh, India. According to the very detailed Certificate of Authenticity that accompanies the jacket, the mornings were cold in the foothills of the Himalayas, and so it was necessary on the first meditation round of the day for Lennon to wear this jacket over his thin cotton Indian kurta. This jacket was left behind, along with several other pieces, when the Beatles abruptly left the ashram after becoming disenchanted with the guru's teachings. According to the COA it has been well-preserved for many years by two months of the same order who were personal assistants to the Beatles at that time.
