John Lennon Incredibly Rare Signed “Double Fantasy" Album - Signed On November 21, 1980 With Pictures! (JSA & REAL).

Offered here is an incredibly rare and sought after “Double Fantasy" album, signed on the back by John Lennon in a ballpoint pen. Lennon has also added two of his signature caricatures below his signature, and added “1980" at the end. Inscribed “To Peter + Friends".

Provenance: From the collection of Peter McCormick. He was in charge of organizing Canada's 3rd ever “Beatles Extravaganza" festival that was to take place in 1980 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. It was retitled “Magical Mystery Tour 1980". In August of 1980 Peter began sending weekly letters to John Lennon asking him to attend the festival. At one point he told John sort of jokingly that if he couldn't attend in person, would he please send a short note that he could share with his friends at the event. He waited and waited and then in late November 1980 he received a package with a return address of Lennono Studio One, 1 West 72nd St. Dakota, NY NY 10023. Inside the package was a “Promotional Materials “ envelope which contained the album Double Fantasy signed by John which said: “For Peter and friends, Love John Lennon and Yoko Ono 1980." Complete with caricature drawings and John drawing an arrow from the song “Kiss Kiss Kiss" to “Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him."

The envelope is dated November 21, 1980 and matches pictures of Lennon signing a stack of albums in his office on November 21, 1980!

Fair condition, with some creasing.

Authentication: James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, a Roger Epperson (REAL) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
