Stunning over-size signed photograph of John L. Lewis, President of the United Mine Workers of America (UMW) from 1920 to 1960. A major influence in the history of coal mining, Lewis was also the driving force behind the founding of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) which established the United Steel Workers of America and helped organize millions of industrial workers during the Great Depression of the 1930s. The 11 X 15 photograph also identifies the photographer in the lower right corner.
Very good condition.
