A impressively framed John F Kennedy display that includes an interesting letter and a handsome picture of Kennedy. The typed letter dated August 30, 1960 is made on Kennedy’s stationery as the US Senator from Massachusetts and despite the fact that it is deemed secretarial, offers fabulous content from the famed Democratic nominee for President one month before his famous debate with Richard Nixon. In his letter written to the Library Director at the University of Kentucky, Kennedy complements their library display of autographs and other matters related to the Presidency during this important year. He goes on to describe “We are faced today, in 1960, with challenge on every front, intellectual, moral and spiritual, economic and political, not only across the seas but everywhere at home…We must decide and we must act….I have made known many times my absolute conviction that the Presidency of the United States is the heart of leadership in the nation.” After further narrative, Kennedy concludes, “…Once again, this year, I believe the American people are ready to move and to call upojn such a leadership.” Framed 29 X 24. Very good condition.
