Jimi Hendrix is featured in this original snapshot photograph of Curtis Knight and the Squires taken at The In-Crowd in Queens, New York, on May 21, 1966. Information about the gig is handwritten on the verso. Jimi is seen here front and center, the second one from the left.
Hendrix met Knight in 1964 and they hit it off. Hendrix became a member of the band Curtis Knight and the Squires in October of the following year. While with the band, Hendrix signed a contract with the owner of PPX Studios, Ed Chaplin for just one dollar. This would later cause major problems for Hendrix. He finally left The Squires on May 20,1966
