A light pink feather boa, owned and worn by Jimi Hendrix both during a photo shoot circa 1967 for the "Are You Experienced" album cover, and used on the U.S. and other issue versions of the LP, and then subsequently used by Hendrix on stage at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. The boa was given a yellow appearance on the “Are You Experienced” album cover due to the infrared effect used. The boa comes from Karl Ferris, who was the photographer for the “Are You Experienced” album cover and was a friend of Jimi's. Ferris remembers Hendrix referring to this item as his “Magic” boa, which bears significant weight to the significance of this item. Owning any Hendrix clothing is very rare, but owning something that was used on the “Are You Experienced” album cover and also worn on stage at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival shows the historical significance of the item. Measures 180 cm long. Very good condition. Comes with a letter of provenance from Karl Ferris and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
