Jimi Hendrix Original Limited Edition Offset Lithograph 1969 German Concert Poster Signed and Numbered by Artist.
This is one of the most sought-after images in the poster-collecting field. Gunther Kieser created this masterpiece for a January 19, 1969 performance in Stuttgart, Germany. The original poster carries the correct concert date of January 19, 1969 in the lower portion, while the merchandise posters carry an incorrect date of January 15 (Hendrix was in Berlin that day). Due to the tremendous popularity of this image, it has been printed at least four times and bootlegged several more. The originals are excessively rare and command well over $15,000, even for a damaged copy. There are three authorized reprints done by Artrock, the first being the one offered here, an offset lithograph that was printed on white stock and measures approximately 25.5 in x 36 in. These were printed in a signed and numbered edition of 500 pieces, this piece is hand-numbered (462/500) by the artist Gunther Kieser, who has also signed the poster on the bottom right corner.
