Provenance: From the collection of Irwin and Clarine Pate. Irwin Pate was a renowned booking agent and promotional agent for over four decades. He promoted talent all over the United States. During his career, Irwin and Clarine amassed a large and very impressive collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. According to the detailed letter from Clarine Pate that accompanies this lot, Irwin knew Jerry Garcia and worked with him on a few occasions. During one of their meetings, Irwin told Jerry about his collection. Jerry then arranged to send Irwin some of his personal items that he no longer needed - including this pocket knife with its brown leather holder featuring a marijuana leaf. It has been in the Pate collection ever since Jerry sent it to them.
Size: The leather holder and pocket knife measures a little over 5 inches in length, the knife fits snugly in the leather holder.
Condition: Good, vintage condition.
