Janis Joplin Owned & Worn Vintage Moroccan-Style Slipper Shoes.

From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin knew Janis and worked with her on a few occasions. During one of their meetings, Irwin told Janis about his collections and she gave him some items for his collection, including these beautiful black suede Moroccan-style slipper shoes with gold trim, multi-color sequin flowers and hearts and leather soles. According to the letter that accompanies the lot, Janis had previously worn the shoes in concert.

Size: Although there is a "2" and a "14" stamped on the bottom of each shoe, there is no indication of size. The shoes are on the smaller size, and are narrow.

Condition: Good, vintage worn.

Authenticity: Letter of provenance from Irwin Pate's late wife Clarine Pate on Pate company letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity
