Janis Joplin Owned & Worn Silver Cuff Bracelet.
This beautiful silver cuff bracelet was owned and worn by Janis Joplin. The bracelet bears the "Mexico 525" stamp on the inside, indicated it is sterling silver (525) and made in Mexico.
Provenance: The bracelet comes from the collection of Irwin and Clarine Pate. Irwin Pate was a renowned booking agent and promotional manager for over four decades. He promoted talent all over the U.S. and during his career, he and his wife amassed an extraordinary collections of personal clothings and articles belonging to numerous entertainers, this bracelet owned and worn by Janis Joplin was one such item. According to the very detailed letter of provenance from Irwin's widow Clarine Pate that accompanies this bracelet, when traveling on concert tours Irwin would often obtain these article from both tour crew members and venue staff. Janis gave this bracelet to a venue employee and had intended to give it to his girlfriend, but he kept it for himself as a souvenir, and eventually sold it to Irwin, where it has been in their collection over since
