Original fourteen-page fight contract dated November 5, 1920 between the Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey and French contender Georges Carpentier. Considered “The Fight of the Century”, The fight would take place in Jersey City on July 2nd, 1921 and was known as the first million-dollar gate. Dempsey would knock out Carpentier in the 4th round retaining his Championship. The contract is signed by both Dempsey and Carpentier as well as managers and promoters including Tex Rickard and Jack Kearns. This copy comes directly from the family of Nathan Vidaver. Vidaver was the attorney who covered the fight, the lot also comes with a letter from him. Measures 8.5 x 11. Fair condition with some tearing. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
