Hillel Slovak Original Signed Sketch of Jimi Hendrix (JSA and COA).

Hillel Slovak, best known as the founding guitarist of the Los Angeles rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, has hand-drawn, signed and dated this stunning sketch of guitar great Jimi Hendrix, in grey graphite pencil. Slovak dated the drawing "1982" next to his signature.

One of the original founders of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, recorded two albums with the band. His guitar work was rooted in funk and hard rock, and he often experimented with other genres, including reggae and speed metal. He is considered to have been a major influence on Red Hot Chili Peppers's early sound. He tragically passed away in 1988 at the young age of 26 from a heroin overdose. This beautiful sketch shows that Hillel was a true artist, not just musically, but with pencil and paper as well.

Dimensions: 8.5 in x 11 in.

Condition: The sketch itself is in very good condition, very detailed and full, and the pencil is strong and clear. The paper upon which the drawing was sketched has has been torn in three areas and repaired with tape. There is a 1.5 in x 1.5 in square missing in the lower right corner and a few light tears near Hillel's signature. None of these mar what is truly a work of art, an incredible homage from one guitarist to another, whose admiration of that guitarist, Hendrix, comes through loud and clear - just like their music.

Authentication: James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, a Certificate of Authenticty and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
