President elect Herbert Hoover signed typed letter made from Stanford University (his alma mater) on his stationery dated November 16, 1928 soon after his election as the 31st President of the United States, defeating Democratic New York Governor Al Smith for the Office. In his letter, Hoover expresses his appreciation to the President of Western Reserve University for his confidence and good wishes. Accompanied by a portrait photograph.
