Former MLB pitcher Harvey Haddix signed this copy of his 1961 Topps #410 insert trading card using a black sharpie pen. This card commemorates the moment that defined Haddix’s career: a game in which he pitched 12 perfect innings only for his team to lose in the 13th inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on May 26th, 1959. Despite retiring 36 straight batters with not much more than a fastball and a slider, Haddix’s Pittsburgh Pirates broke the perfect game off a fielding error in the 13th which then ended up costing them the game. Nevertheless, the performance is widely regarded as the greatest pitching ever. Comes in a Beckett Authentication Services “Authentic” slab and with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
