Harriet May Mills Signed Photographic Sentiment (Civil Rights Leader).

A wonderful handwritten, signed and dated sentiment from Harriet May Mills (1857-1935), a prominent civil and women’s rights leader. Written on a unique piece of 6.5 X 9 stationery dated January 20, 1921 that pictures her, Mills writes, “The immortal Lincoln proclaimed the justice of woman suffrage when he said, ‘I go for all sharing the privileges of government who assist in bearing its burden by no means excepting women’.” She goes on to write, “Now in this 20th century, women have just won their long fight for the ballot. May they use it to realize a truer democracy in which the voice of all the people shall be heard!” Signed “Harriet May Mills.”
