George Martin has signed this June 11, 2007 typed letter to a Beatles fan in blue ballpoint pen. An 81 year old Martin speaks of the new "Love" record and tells the fan that it came about when he and his son Giles worked together on the new Circque du Soleil show in Las Vegas using Beatles music - a long process but a joy to be working with his son who would be "carrying the torch from now on." Martin writes that this record would be "the last thing I shall ever do in the record business..." Typed on "Sir George Martin, CBE" letterhead measuring 8.5" x 11.5". Accompanied by the original mailing envelope bearing the Royal Mail postmark with the date "11.06.07". Comes with signed letter from Jim Birmingham. Very good condition. Estimate: $300 - $400.
