General George C. Marshall signed his portrait photograph (with a small US Army stamp on verso). Winston Churchill referred to Marshall as the “organizer of victory” for his leadership in the Allied victory during WWII. Marshall served as Chief of Staff of the US Army under Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman during the war. After the war Marshall served as Secretary of State during which the Marshall Plan for post war European recovery was adopted and for which he was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953 (the only Army General to ever be so honored). Later he also served as the US Secretary of Defense. 8 X 10. Small mounting holes and light wear around the edges. Good condition.
