United States soldier and statesman George C. Marshall has signed this letter of thanks to someone who congratulated him on winning the 1953 Nobel Peace Prize using a black fountain-tip pen. Marshall won the Peace Prize for his work in post WWII European recovery, and was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 1943 and 1947. Marshall also served as Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State during his career in politics. Very Good condition. Measures 7” x 9”. This lot comes from the extensive personal collection of a life-long collector of Historical, Entertainment and Sports artifacts and memorabilia. The collector has amassed a virtually unmatched collection that is one of the largest we have ever seen.
