The “Holy Grail” for Queen collectors! Extremely, extremely rare Queen "News of the World" UK promotional-only large plastic robot artwork. Only 10 were produced to use in the largest record stores at the time, 5 of the 10 went to the band and their manager (Brian May apparently still has his robot, Freddie’s was sold directly to a private collector). Of the 5 that got into the wild, only 1 has gone for public sale since 1978! Also known as Frank – named after its designer Frank Kelly Freas- this robot artwork measures approximately 54” in height and is made from silver colored molded plastic with hand-finished coloring and detail. An incredible rarity, each example of this artwork is slightly different. The robot’s hands create a platform upon which the vinyl LPs can be displayed, held in place by a red wire-framed basket with antenna. This example has a red QUEEN title sticker on its chest, and it also has red eyes and mouth. Excellent condition. Comes with an Esprit International, Ltd. Certificate of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
