Elvis gifted this ring in Las Vegas, early December 1976 to his personal bodyguard Sam Thompson. Elvis gave Sam the ring after a performance one night at the Hilton Hotel, upstairs in his suite. According to Sam, Elvis told him the ring with an ornate Florentine pattern on either side of the stone was an antique.
