This is Elvis Presley's original script for his very first movie, "Love Me Tender." "Love Me Tender" was the is widely regarded as his best acting performance. Extra lines and scenes were added to Elvis' part - originally quite minor - to accommodate his rabid fans. The script's original title, "The Reno Brothers", is stamped on the front and spine of the script. That title was passed over because the young singing sensation had a new hit song out: "Love Me Tender." That new title is handwritten in blue ink both directly above the stamped original title and in the upper right hand corner. Stamped in the upper left is the message "Please forward to: ELVIS PRESLEY." The script is identified with a stamp as a "REVISED FINAL" and also numbered in various places on the cover: 2671, 537, and 8-153 on the spine. The script is dated August 1, 1953, and actually pre-dates Elvis' fame; it languished for years in pre-production before Elvis was attached. The script is wrapped in clear plastic and mounted on a black board. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Dick Clark Auction and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
