Elvis Presley wore this tailored red silk long sleeve shirt at Graceland in the summer of 1970 while riding on one of his horses (usually “Rising Sun”) down to the gates to chat with fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. The shirt features elastic gathering at the forearms and at the cuffs, a six- button front  closure and custom top stitching on a long, pointed collar.  The IC Costume Co California label is sewn on the inside of the shirt. Elvis would often wear one of his trademark white scarves with his shirts, wrapped around his neck and fastened with a small ring, so could wipe his forehead as July summers in Memphis are quite unbearable (one of the  reasons Elvis generally slept until late in the afternoon and did not venture out in the Memphis heated summers until late in the day). Accompanied by a photograph of Elvis wearing the shirt and a white scarf at the gates of Graceland, and a letter of provenance from Richard Davis. Also comes with an original IC Costume Company Hollywood wooden hanger.
