Elvis Presley has made use of both sides of this 7.25" x 10.5" Hilton Hawaiian Village stationery. On one side he has handwritten a set list featuring such songs as "Heartbreak Hotel," "That's All Right," "Don't Be Cruel," and "Hound Dog" in blue ballpoint pen. Next to the fifth song, "Love Me" he has written a note to himself to introduce the band. On the other side of the stationery Elvis has handwritten a letter to his long-time friend and president of his Memphis fan club, Gary Pepper. In the letter Elvis refers to the concert for which he had written the set list, the famous Pearl Harbor charity concert which took place on March 25, 1961, and notes that he is sending Gary the set list because he knows he wanted to be there. He also states that "...it was good to be entertaining the folks again" (Elvis has stopped performing after he returned from service in the war). Elvis was in Hawaii to shoot his film "Blue Hawaii" - the first of three Hawaii-themed films that Elvis would make. He refers to filming in the island for several weeks, returning to Hollywood to finish it and then back to Memphis. Writing of Memphis he says, "I don't mind telling you Gary I miss it ever time I leave it." He finishes the letter by saying "Well you take care of yourself and I will see you when I get back to Memphis, your friend, Elvis Presley." The letter is written in blue ballpoint pen. Excellent condition. Estimate: $22,000 - $24,000.
