An 1893 handwritten signed letter from the Elizabeth B. Custer (wife of General George A. Custer) in which she mentions “I have just reached home from my western engagements.” During their marriage, Elizabeth stayed in close proximity to her husband throughout his military campaigns. After his death (1876) Elizabeth was an outspoken advocate of his legacy through popular books and lectures. Two-page letter, 4.5 X 7 written on her New York City address stationery. Very good condition.
