This is perhaps the youngest signed photograph of Elizabeth Taylor extant. Signed as a twelve year-old to a childhood friend, this beautiful 8 X 10 original black and white photograph of the budding childhood star is signed “With Best Wishes to Kay from Elizabeth Taylor,” in black fountain pen. This circa 1944 photograph was signed about the time Taylor was filming “National Velvet,” her first film success and movie about a twelve year old girl from England who wins a spirited gelding in a raffle and trains it for the National steeplechase. Taylor became one of the most glamorous and great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age, starring in such films as “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, “Butterfield 8”, for which she received her first Oscar, “Cleopatra”, and “Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”, for which she won a second Oscar. This is truly a remarkable signed photograph from the earliest years of this 20th Century icon. Comes with a full JSA Letter of Authenticity. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
