Edward E. Hale Handwritten Signed Letter & Samuel Carter Hall Signed Poem.

Handwritten and letter from Edward Everett Hale dated November 13, 1893 made on his stationery as editor of The Commonwealth. The grand-nephew of Revolutionary war spy Nathan Hale, Edward was an author, historian and minister recognized for such writings as “The Man Without a Country” that first appeared in the “Atlantic Monthly” (1863). 5.75 X 9.375.

The lot also includes two signatures of Samuel Carter Hall, editor of the British publication “The Art Journal” signed on a card printed of his 1885 poem, “Strange?” Hall was a convinced spiritualist and Chairman of the British National Association of Spiritualists.” 4.75 X 7.75.
