American children’s author, cartoonist, and illustrator Theodore Seuss Geisel signed this cut with his pen name Dr. Seuss. Geisel started his career as an illustrator and cartoonist in 1927 working for Vanity Fair and had his first book — And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street — in 1937. During World War II, he took a break from children’s books to make political cartoons, but afterwards he returned to books and published over 60 titles under the name Dr. Seuss. His books, such as The Cat in the Hat (1957) and The Lorax (1971) have since been adapted into films. Very Good condition. Cut measures 3” x 2”.
