The 2005-06 NBA season was a fruitful one for the Dallas Mavericks as it marked the team’s first Western Conference Championship. The Mavs finished the regular season with a 60-22 record and steamrolled their way through the playoffs before dropping a tough, six-game series in the NBA Finals to Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat. Seven-foot power forward Dirk Nowitzki from Wurzburg, Germany, paved the way for Dallas by averaging a team-high 26.6 points and nine rebounds every night. His patented one-legged, step-back fadeaway was one of the league’s most lethal offensive weapons for nearly two decades, but 2005-06 was Nowitzki’s best campaign when it came to scoring. Presented here is the German sharp-shooter’s signed and game-used Mavericks alternate road jersey from that memorable season.

The multi-colored (green/blue/white/black) jersey has “Mavs” sewn across the chest in white tackle twill letters outlined in blue. Nowitzki’s uniform number “41” is sewn on the left front chest area and centered on the back in white tackle twill outlined in blue. The Adidas-branded jersey shows a size 48 tag with an NBA AUTHENTICS logo sewn on the bottom left front tail accompanied by the Mavericks team logo. The back of the jersey shows “NOWITZKI” sewn in white tackle twill, with the Mavericks logo embroidered and centered above his name. Nowitzki has signed the jersey on the back by writing his name vertically on the number 1 in blue fine-point marker. A 14-time All-Star and 12-time All-NBA selection, Nowitzki helped revolutionize the game by becoming one of the first big men to present a legitimate outside shooting threat. He was rightfully inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.

This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use with some slight fraying of the numbers and letters present.

Authentication: Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity and a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity.

Note: This jersey comes from the personal collection of former NBA player Jason Terry. His nickname is “The Jet.” He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz.
