Boca Juniors world-beater Diego Armando Maradona wore this blue and yellow Boca shirt during the 10/11/1981 match of the Nacional Argentine Primera Division, Matchday 6. At the time, the Argentine league was split into two tournaments, the Metropolitano and the Nacional, with Maradona leading Boca to their 20th league title in the 1981 Metropolitano tournament in his first campaign with the Argentine giants. Maradona, a lifelong Boca supporter, transferred to the Buenos Aires club from Argentinos Juniors for a stratospheric $4 million fee before the 1981 season. He would play two seasons for Boca before earning a transfer to Spain’s Barcelona, winning his only Primera Division title in 1981 by a single point over Ferro Carril Oeste. In total, Maradona scored 28 goals in 40 appearances during his first stint with Boca Juniors. Maradona wore this jersey during the Nacional tournament on October, 11 1981 against San Lorenzo de Mar del Plata. Boca Juniors slaughtered their opponents, winning 7-1. More significantly, Maradona scored 2 goals and had 1 assist during that match, making this jersey a very significant piece of Maradona history. This was matchday 6 of the tournament. The jersey shoes heavy wear, indicating Maradona could have worn the jersey for multiple matches. Maradona gave the jersey to Carlos M. González, the referee of the match. This offered Boca Juniors jersey is blue, with a yellow stripe across the chest and three yellow Adidas stripes on each sleeve. Maradona’s number “10” is printed on the back of this historic jersey in white numerals. A yellow Adidas trefoil logo is sewn on the right chest with the letters C A B J embossed in gold. An Adidas size “40” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. Comes with a MEARS Letter of Authenticity, a letter of provenance, a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity
