Derek Jeter was the New York Yankees latest team captain, a prestigious rank he held from 2003 until his retirement season of 2014. Jeter’s impact on the Bronx Bombers was almost immediate as they won four World Series titles (1996, ‘98 ‘99 and ‘00) in his first six seasons with the club. The 2006 campaign turned out to be one of Jeter’s best statistically as the shortstop batted .343, drove in 97 runs, won his third straight Gold Glove and his first of five Silver Slugger awards. He finished a close second in the AL MVP balloting to Minnesota’s Joe Mauer. Offered here is Jeter’s game-worn and autographed New York Yankees home jersey from that memorable season.

The white jersey with Navy blue pinstripes exhibits outstanding game wear with infield dirt stains showing on the front left side just below the “NY” Navy blue tackle twill logo as well as the rear right side. The jersey is tagged "Majestic Athletic Authentic Collection” with a size “48” and “2006” year flag tags on the lower left front tail. Just like the logo on front, Jeter’s now retired uniform No. 2 is similarly applied to the center of the verso in Navy blue tackle twill. The official MLB logo is embroidered in red, white and blue on the rear collar. Jeter has signed just above the number “2” in dark blue fine tip marker.

Authentication: A Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity and a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity for the autograph.
