David Bowie wore these 1950's style brown leather shoes in the music video for his song "Absolute Beginners." The shoes originally came from the personal collection of Roger Burton who was Bowie's personal stylist for three years in the 1980's. The director Julien Temple wanted the video to look like a 1950's Stand cigarette commercial, so Burton styled Bowie in a 1950's suit, shoes and hat. Bowie is seen wearing these shoes in the black and white scenes in the video. The shoes are accompanied by photos from the video, a letter of authenticity from Roger Burton and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
