Daniel Honeyboy Edwards Played & Signed Epiphone Acoustic Guitar (Maxim Langstaff Collection).
Offered here is an incredible guitar which has been played & signed by Honeyboy Edwards.
Per our consignor, “I interviewed and recorded Honeyboy Edwards, the last surviving Mississippi Delta bluesman, in Greenwood Mississippi in 2008 for Soundbreaking. He was brought down from a Chicago assisted living facility for the shoot, which I wanted to take place in Greenwood, where Robert Johnson lived and later died nearby. Honeyboy was a close friend and fellow player with Johnson and was with him the night he was poisoned. I brought with me a guitar I purchased, the closest one I could find that resembled Johnson’s. Honeyboy played it and signed it for me during the interview and recording.”
Provenance: From the Maxim Langstaff collection.
