An original 5" reel to reel tape of the Black Dyke Mills Band's recordings for their single "Thingumybob," written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The other song is a cover version of the Beatles "Yellow Submarine" which appeared on the flip side of the single. Produced by Paul McCartney, it was one of Apple Records' first issued singles. "Thingumybob" was the theme to a Yorkshire television sitcom of the same name. The tape is housed in its original Trident Studios box which has been filled out in black ballpoint pen with the date, "5/9/68", the client, "Apple Records", the Programme "Black Dyke Mills Band" and the two songs. Comes with letter of provenance.
