B.B. King Owned & Used Hohner Super Chromonica" Harmonica.
Offered here is B.B. King's personally owned and played Hohner Super Chromonica harmonica.
Provenance: From the private collection of Irwin and Clarine Pate. Irwin Pate was a renowned booking and promotional manager for over four decades for many entertainers in the United States. He is probably best known as the booking and promotional manager for James Brown, and they were also very close friends and confidants. The Pates amassed a quite large and impressive collection of clothing and accessories from the many entertainers he worked with over the years, and over the course of their business association and personal friendship, Irwin acquired several items directly from James Brown. According to the detailed letter from Clarine Pate that accompanies this lot, B.B. King gave this Hohner harmonica to James Brown, and later James Brown gifted it to Irwin Pate. The harmonica was thus owned and used by both B.B. King and James Brown.
