Arshad al-Umari Prime Minister Iraq (1946) rare signed letter. Born into the well-known al-Umari family clan, Arshad served as Prime Minister of Iraq twice, in 1946 and again in 1954. In 1945, al-Umari led the Iraqi delegation to the San Francisco UN Conference where he refused to sign the charter in protest against the partition of the British Mandate of Palestine into a Jewish State and an Arab State. The letter typed on his Baghdad Office stationery dated 8.6.46 is addressed to the Principal of the Radford School (for girls) El Paso Texas.
Lucinda de Leftwich Templin was the principal of the Radford School for 40 years and whose autograph collection is well recognized in the field of autograph collecting.
