Allman Brothers Band founding member Dickey Betts stage used and personally owned 1958 Gibson Les Paul sunburst electric guitar. It started out it’s life as a Goldtop, and Dickey had it refinished sometime in the early 1970’s by the Gibson factory. Betts used this magnificent guitar between the years 1968 and 1978 and he gave it to fellow band member Dan Toler, During this period this guitar was used at some of the most historic concerts in Rock and Roll History including The Filmore. For the Allman Brothers Band this was also a historic period with Duane Allman leading the band to iconic music. This was also a time when it was very common for band members to share instruments, it likely that Duane played this very guitar on many occasions along with other band members. in 1979. Toler then played this guitar himself as a member of the Allman Brothers Band, the Gregg Allman Band, Dickey Betts, and many gigs through 1998. Accompanied by a detailed notarized letter of authenticity from Dan Toler as well as a detailed notarized letter of authenticity from William H. Perkins of Republic Artist Management, Macon Georgia. The guitar is in very good condition, and also comes with printouts of photos of Betts and Toler playing the guitar as well as a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
