Albert Einstein Handwritten & Signed 1922 Letter Referring to His Theory of Relativity with Incredible Drawing.
Albert Einstein hand wrote and signed this one page letter that is dated March 6, 1922 in which he refers to his Theory of Relativity. Handwritten in German, the letter transcribes as the following: "6th March 1922. Dear Sir: Your example is very amusing and does you credit. We are not dealing with a "relativity of energy" here, but with a thermodynamical machine that converts heat into work. Essentially, this is related to the specific heat of a magnetizable substance depending on the (magnetic) field in which it resides. This is a thermodynamic analogy to the specific heat (heat capacity) of a gas depending on its pressure (the volume of the gas is thermodynamically equivalent to the magnetization). Yours faithfully, A. Einstein P.S.: Consider the following amusing analogy cooling – heating Wheel with thermally expandable tyre and rigid spokes. Heated on the right, cooled on the left. Will be kept in rotation by gravity."
The letter is handwritten and signed in black fountain pen and is accompanied by supporting documents all in German, including a drawing.
Dimensions: Measures 8.5 x 11.
Remarkably fine condition considering the age of the piece, with a couple of tears at the edge and creases where it had been folded to fit into an envelope. There are two hole punches at the top, most likely the recipient had them punched so that he could keep it in a binder along with his other work on the subject.
