Admiral Richard E. Byrd Autograph Collection (3).
A signature archive consists of three autographs of Polar explorer and Medal of Honor winner Admiral Richard E Byrd.

The typed letter dated March 12, 1937 is a heartfelt expression of condolence to the wife of Arthur Raymond upon his passing in which Byrd writes, “…The news distressed me greatly…I had a great admiration for your husband and shall always remember the splendid service he gave me in bringing my ship from the West Coast.” Signed in full, “Richard E Byrd.” Bryd added note reads, “Signed in Florida – your husband was one of the very finest characters it has ever been my good fortune to meet. REB.” Accompanying these three autographed items is a 9.75 X 6.75 vintage color print of the Official Flag of the Explorers Club with a handwritten name and inscription which may be from artist Joseph Graham Kaye whose work as an artist on the 1933 RBMVE (taken from a record of his Explorers Club application) included drawing Navajo life, photographs, formations and ,making a set of watercolors of the valley to send to the Department of the Interior.
