The signature cut of David Glascow Farragut signed “D.G. Farragut Admiral,” accompanied by an 8 X 10.5 engraved picture and a 5.5 X 7.25 photographic print. Farragut was the first rear admiral, vice admiral and admiral of the United Sates Navy. In US Navy tradition, Farragut is remembered for his order at the Battle of Mobile Bay during the Civil War, paraphrased as “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.” The 3.25 X 2 cut has remnants of a past mounting on verso. Very good condition.
