Offered here is a handwritten segment from the 16th president of the United States Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln wrote in full, “And for further plea in this behalf of the defendants say plaintiff actio now… because they say that the supposed assignments of the note in the declaration mentioned, was made with the intent to secure the payment of one liability of said Bank in preference to another, and this the defendants are ready to verify, wherefor &.."
