Baltimore Orioles away jersey worn by Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson during his last full season as an everyday player with the club. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Orioles" across the front and features the number "5" on the left breast and reverse. "Robinson" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are appliqued in orange on black tackle twill. All of the tagging is located on the interior right-front tail and consists of a "Wilson 44" label and an adjacent flag tag that reads "Set 1 1975." Robinson has signed the jersey in black Sharpie on the back. The garment is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear. Robinson played his entire twenty-three year career in Baltimore, where he shined as one of the game's greatest defensive players. Although he remained with the club through 1977 in a part-time role, 1975 was not only his last full season with the Orioles but also the sixteenth, and final, season in which he would receive the Gold Golve Award (a record number for any position). Today, he holds nearly every career-fielding record by a third baseman including most games, best fielding percentage, most putouts, most assists, most chances and most double plays. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1983. The jersey comes from the Matt Minker collection. Minker was a long-time Baseball collector as well as president and managing partner of the Wilmington Blue Rocks. A one-of-a-kind item, a must-have for any serious Baseball collector. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
