This rare baseball flexichrome was used in the production of Dave Giusti 1962 Topps baseball card. This uniquely beautiful process of creating cards from flexichromes was used by Topps for a short period of time, ending in the early 1960s whereby meticulous color paintings were painted over black and white photographs. Giusti is pictured as a rookie playing with the 1962 expansion team, the Houston Colt 45s. Later in his career, Giusti won five National League Eastern Division titles and one World Series title during six seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Very good condition. This rarity mounted on board measures 6.5 X 8 and framed in two-sided glass to display the stamp provenance from the 1989 Topps auction on verso 12 X 14. Very good condition. Accompanied by one of his 1962 Topps baseball cards. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity and a Certificate from the 1989 Topps Auction.
