Baltimore Orioles home flannel jersey worn by Hall of Fame pitcher Robin Roberts in 1962. This is the earliest Robin Roberts jersey ever offered in public auction. The zipper-front white flannel jersey is lettered "Orioles" across the front and features the number "38" on the left breast and reverse. All letters and numerals are appliqued in orange on black felt. An Orioles team patch adorns the left sleeve. Both the uniform number and year ("38-1962") are chain-stitched in black upon a white strip tag located in the collar. A "Wilson 44" tag appears on the left front tail. Roberts has signed the jersey in black Sharpie. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays heavy wear. This jersey comes from the collection of Matt Minker. Minker was a long-time Baseball collector as well as president and managing partner of the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Minker obtained this jersey directly from Robin Roberts and there are various photographs of Minker with Roberts. A one-of-a-kind item, a must-have for any serious Baseball collector. Comes with a Letter of Provenance, a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
