This is one of the most photographed shirts that Elvis Presley ever wore. No other individual in rock and roll history could dress like Elvis and be so cool at the same time. The pink gabardine short-sleeved button front shirt features a chest pocket with an inverted pleat and a collar with black accents that goes in and out like lacing. The shirt was purchased as Lansky's, Elvis’ favorite store in Memphis, and bears the Lanksy’s label. Worn in the 1950’s, Elvis was most often seen with the sleeves rolled up. About the only time Elvis was ever photographed wearing short-sleeve shirts was during this period in the 1950’s. Starting in the 1960’s, unless it was for a movie, Elvis invariably wore long-sleeve shirts. The shirt comes with photographs of Elvis wearing the shirt along with a letter from his father Vernon Presley, who notated it the Memphis Salvation Army years later.
