Elvis Presley owned and signed gold lion statue. This lion can be seen in Elvis’ film "That’s The Way It Is” sitting on a table. Originally, this lion statue was one of many that Co.l Parker kept at his MGM Culver City offices in the early 1970’s. Elvis recorded at the studios there, and one day when he was going through the office he ran across the lions. He took several and left a note for the Colonel explaining that he took two of them. Elvis eventually put one of these lions in what is now called his “jungle room” and the other he gave to his long time friend Charlie Hodge who lived at Graceland. Elvis signed the bottom of the tiger to Charlie in black felt tip pen,“To Slewfoot” (Elvis’ nickname for Charlie). Measures approximately 19.5 x 8 x 11. Very good condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Charlie Hodge and a photograph of the statue in the jungle room at Graceland and of one of the statues at the Colonel's office. Also comes with the handwritten and signed letter that Elvis wrote to the Colonel when he took the statue and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
