Presented here is a Wilson tennis racket used by and smashed by tennis icon Serena Williams during the 2013 Australian Open. A similar racquet smashed by Williams sold in 2019 for $20,900. The No. 3 seed, Williams was expected to demolish 19-year-old Sloane Stevens in the quarterfinals, but Stevens had other plans, rallying to defeat the formidable Williams 3-6, 7-5,6-4. This presented Wilson “BLADE one hundred four” racket was smashed by Williams during her surprise loss to Sloane Stevens on January 22, 2013. The racket features a handle wrapped in white tape with the Wilson “W” in gold on the knob of the handle. “WILSON PRO OVERGRIP” is labeled at the top of the handle. The racket shows excellent evidence of game use that contains smashing of the rim, strings, grommets, and grommet strip. An excellent match use specimen from one of the greatest tennis players to ever step foot on the court. Comes with a Sports Investors Authentication Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
